Merging Duplicate Accounts

To start merging accounts, navigate to the account details page of a main account and click the green button labeled 'Start merge customers'.

The current merge feature of Doppelganger leans on the ability in Shopify to move an order from one account to the other. This can not be automated though, so this merge process still requires a level of manual labor.
Doppelganger helps in this process by collecting all orders and automating as much as possible.

The first step of the merge process is going through the orders displayed in the list on the page. Each order opens in a new tab.
On each order:

  1. Remove the current customer
  2. Add the (main) customer

After all orders have changed, you can verify the process in the merge step of Doppelganger. You can then proceed to the automated steps.

Doppelganger will change the contact details on the orders, move notes that are on the duplicate customers to the main customer and remove the duplicate accounts. These three steps can be turned off individually.
